I'm guessing you've all heard the sad news of Robin Williams' passing. I think it's shocked the world in a way that I haven't really seen in a celebrity death before. I've seen, just from my facebook, that so many are completely devastated by the loss of a comedy, and acting hero - myself included. The main thing that's really gotten to me is that I hope he knew how much he was loved.
Having battled with depression for many years myself personally, I know how lonely and isolating it can be. You can feel like you are completely on your own. It's like there is a tunnel ahead of you, but there's no ending and no light. Everything ahead of you is darkness and pain. The depths of a persons depression is never something to be underestimated.
Robin Williams was, and will always be, the greatest comedic actor of our time. All we can hope is that he is in a better place, pain-free and watching over those who he loved. We are all so lucky to have shared his sparky personality and intuitive humour. I hope he rests easy, wherever he is.
What are your favourite films of his? I adore Mrs Doubtfire - just brilliant!
